Dilemma in the Lunchroom

Elsewhere is a gentle story about love and loss told through the perspective of a grief stricken laborer. As the first snow descends on the province, she spends her day harvesting oysters along the river bank, and contemplating the nature of her grief. Waist high in the water, she pushes through the meandering currents, when she suddenly encounters a familiar creature rising from the shallows. Her muses awash, she finds herself elsewhere, succumbing to another shell.

After the death of his father, an Episcopalian priest, a teenage ice skater is lost in grief and god's silence. He begins to form a relationship with a non-binary photographer and starts to find a purpose in life. As he skates memories flow through him in a kaleidoscopic depiction of time and he comes to terms with death, religion, and life.

Impractical Spartans Tie Breaker

Two estranged friends, Chloe and Brooklyn, break down after fleeing the home of Micheal Davis, renowned Children’s Author, where he’s presumably been murdered. Brook attempts to take care of both the broken down car, Sabrina, and the wounded Chloe suffering from a bullet wound. The two argue as they wrestle with the frustration of going nowhere. Brooklyn eventually helps Chloe by removing the bullet from her shoulder and then sewing it up all the while Chloe reveals why she decided to visit her childhood home in Bombay Beach instead of remaining separate with her fiancee in New York.

Bobby, a student at Jurupa Hills High School was murdered. Detective Williams gets called on the case to try and figure out who Bobby's murderer is.

SBVC Theatre Arts Department Presents "She Kills Monsters"

A girl is feeling a bit nauseous.

2016 Style Bathroom

A couple by the name of Tony and Sam go to an Airbnb to reconcile their marriage before they reach a breaking point while Luna's love for her best friend Sabina is at boiling point and she is ready to come out. All while a rainstorm is going on and they are stuck in with the oddball caretaker Paul the magician.

3 days, 2 nights

Fate crosses the paths of two strangers, who find the redemption they seek in each other.

Amend

Rumors are a-plenty, after an announcement lets a class know that the girl’s toilet block is being closed. Why are they being closed? What could possibly have happened? One student has good reason to add to the rumor mill, but will the lies catch up with him?

“Baldur’s Flats” is a short, expository documentary about a Norse runestone which mysteriously appeared in an Ontario public park in the summer of 2019. Sparked by an investigative CBC article, the film conducts interviews with a groundskeeper, local artist, and professor of Scandinavian studies to decipher the message behind the enigmatic rock.

The senior Class of 2020 takes the reins to save the broadcast, but in the process faces a dangerous journey through time and must reflect on the unavoidable and emotional end of their high school career. A film about bravery, retrospection, and the difficulties of leaving what has, for a time, been your entire life.

BCTV: Endgame

Jenn appears to be a normal teenage girl. Unknown to her friends, she has a disorder that causes her to pull out her hair. One day at a high school graduation pool party, she is pushed into the pool and her secret is revealed. Now that her true self is out, she must choose between continuing to hide who she is in order to appear “normal”, or embracing her true self.

Abigail hasn’t left her home in years. Her childhood friend, Lauren, brings her necessities every week until she tells Abigail of her recent engagement. Lauren then gives her an ultimatum: leave her home and rejoin the world, or she will not return. Abigail wants to live normally, but the physical manifestation of her depression haunts her, stopping her from leaving. When Lauren arrives for the last time, Abigail has to fight the embodiment of her depression to open the door to the real world.

Basketball was always a huge hobby for me and I enjoyed playing it with my friends and family. One day when my brother and I went to play basketball, we met people--people who didn't look like us. They had different skin color, different hair styles, and spoke a different language. We wanted to play basketball with them but realized how reality was--people didn't want them to play with us because they were ... different.

Caught Up by the Past

Haley, a young adult struggling with her mental health, begrudgingly attends therapy. She attempts to convince her therapist that she is "thriving" and has in fact made improvements, despite having to move back in with her mom, a "big step backwards" in her book. Dr. Shultz easily sees through Haley's happy, well-adapted facade, leading her to a meltdown, an uncomfortable discovery, and some much-needed self-awareness.

With this in mind, local photographers use the former "All American" city as their canvas, using photography of the city as a measure of its pride, casting a light over the city as it struggles

The Black Lives Matter Protest has been going on for years, and recently today's youth are some of the most involved participants. Youth on BLM interviews 6 high school age girls on The Black Lives Matter movement, providing a young perspective on what BLM is, what it's trying to achieve, and how one can help. This film was completely was created in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic and footage was created entirely through video calls and shared home media.
